Jim Butcher is a New York Times Best Selling author. His contemporary fantasy book series The Dresden Files, was recently brought to television for a short-lived series on the SciFi cable network. He also writes the Codex Alera series.

After spending too many years as an Industrial Engineer, Shannon Butcher learned to write from her husband, bestselling author Jim Butcher. Her first novel, No Regrets, was released on February of 2007. It will be followed by No Control in early 2008.

*2007's charity was First Book - a non-profit organization that provides books for children in areas where resources are limited.

They provide an ongoing supply of new books to children participating in community-based mentoring, tutoring, and family literacy programs.

Founded in 1992, First Book's model is national in scope and local in impact. In their first year, First Book distributed approximately 12,000 books in three communities. Since that time, First Book has distributed more than 50 million books to children in over 1300 communities around the country.
